Wanna have a direct hand in helping a fledgling but promising Botswana-based studio get its groove on? Help inject a little kwasa-kwasa into some Southern African crunky reggae? Well, if you’ve got a working strat or telecaster or any ol’ electric guitar really — & a bass guitar is wanted as well — I’ve got a place you can send it to, w/ potentially awesome returns! If so, get in touch >>
No acoustics? I’ve got an old acoustic I’d love to donate to a worthy cause. Let me know.
That’s a good question, Dan. I happen to know that my friend in Botswana is specifically looking for an electric (which is part of the classic kwasa-kwasa sound, likewise the electric bass). But I’m sure that we could find a good place for your acoustic if you’re up for shipping it off.
You remind me that some folks in the favela of Vidigal asked me to see if I could round up some instruments for a community center there. Perhaps I should begin a wider initiative to transfer some of our unused instruments to places where they’re wanted? If any other readers have similar desires/donations, please leave a comment and we’ll see what we can round up.
btw, I’ve already heard offline from someone ready to donate a perfectly good strat knockoff. You guys are great! Unwanted P-bass anyone?
Righteous. Let me know. I actually have an electric (my first) that I’d be willing to part with but it lives in my parents house on the east coast (I’m in Chicago).
