Going back to that old business of alternative canons, I’m surprised just how close this list is to that of the “conventional eurocentric discourse” on reggae music. This top twenty at least (where’s the rest) could very conceivably have ended up on a western fan’s list as well, at least one who likes ska and rocksteady more than roots.
