    I forgot to mention “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid”. After Fletch, I think that’s the most important of the 80s comedic detective films.

    Heh. I thought this was random/clever spam for a moment before I remembered our conversation. The 80s comedic detective film is indeed a genre to be reckoned with. I’m gonna hafta revisit “Dead Men” in light of your high estimation of its significance.
