{"id":61,"date":"2006-12-19T12:38:56","date_gmt":"2006-12-19T17:38:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wayneandwax.com\/?p=61"},"modified":"2015-01-07T14:14:22","modified_gmt":"2015-01-07T18:14:22","slug":"and-bring-it-right-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wayneandwax.com\/?p=61","title":{"rendered":"And Bring It Right Here"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/wayneandwax\/tags\/gingerbread\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/140\/327249763_2a7e9653aa_m_d.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\n<em>Too late with the figgy pudding, the gingerbread man got what was coming to him<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of getting what&#8217;s coming&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Climate scientist Ben Zaitchik (disclosure: my college roommate), who knows a thing or two about global warming, describes and debunks what he calls &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.freezerbox.com\/archive\/article.php?id=475\">The Negligents<\/a>&#8221; &#8212; and probably goes way too easy on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkingpointsmemo.com\/archives\/011564.php\">Michael &#8220;Creep&#8221; Crichton<\/a>, never mind the invaluable, tax-supported &#8220;research&#8221; being conducted by our <a href=\"http:\/\/epw.senate.gov\/fact.cfm?party=rep&#038;id=266711\">gubberment<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Sociologist Orlando Patterson (disclosure: a member of my <a href=\"http:\/\/wayneandwax.com\/?p=57\">committee<\/a>), who knows a thing or two <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Freedom-Vol-Making-Western-Culture\/dp\/0465025323\">about freedom<\/a>, has an op-ed in today&#8217;s NYT explaining why the Bush administration and their &#8220;neo-liberal (a\/k\/a neo-conservative)&#8221; pushers have pursued a deeply misguided goal in the ME. Unfortunately, the gray lady is hiding the piece behind its <a href=\"http:\/\/select.nytimes.com\/2006\/12\/19\/opinion\/19patterson.html\">Select&reg; wall<\/a>, so you&#8217;ll (prolly) have to read it some other way. <\/li>\n<li>Finally, tho in a v diff way, <a href=\"http:\/\/echowreck.net\/\">Cella<\/a> deserves what&#8217;s coming &#8212; ie, some praise &#8212; for the fine mixes, spanning the whirls of minimaal and futuragga.
