You may have heard of the Lincoln-Obama “street art” mashup (gone awry?<\/a>) here in Boston. It’s a striking image. And the Warholian facsimile effect \/ color scheme and larger-than-lifeness of the series — plus that (supposedly) unauthorized eye-patch — make it all the more arresting. <\/p>\n Charlie’s got plans<\/a> for it (tonight) — and, from the Gallery XIV<\/a> director, news<\/a>!<\/p>\n \nThe kids have been mobilized, Will<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The kids’ versions are vivid and provocative —<\/p>\n
\nand they are starting to get pretty excited.
\nSo far I\u2019ve brought all my older groups (about 80 kids) to see the
\nwall , talk about it, and start creating their own colored versions.
\nCheck out the pic<\/a> of our first batch.
\nMuch more to come \u2026 lots of potential directions.
\nWhat\u2019s most exciting to me is this contagious feeling of empowerment
\nthat is growing as the kids realize the connection between making an
\nartistic statement and becoming involved in the political process.
\nMost of them are too cool to admit it yet (at least to me).
