March 6 - Boston Vacation
This morning at 5:30 I left my apartment and headed to the airport. I was coming to Boston to visit Brown (though I'm sort of leaning towards Harvard somewhat at this point.) My flights were uneventful until we got near to Boston. Then we encountered some turbulence due to the big snowstorm that was blanketing the Northeast with snow (and bringing with it a lot of cold weather). We had to hold over Providence while they plowed the runways. We landed in a field of white. No other planes were moving. My father was coming to pick me up, but he was stuck in snowstorm traffic. I tried to get a taxi, but the first guy I talked to wouldn't go to Beacon Hill in the weather. The second guy was more compliant, but not sure we'd get all the way. Of course there was no way I could drive to Providence for the dinner that was supposed to be this evening. There was a 150 car pile-up on Rte. 95 and the whole highway was closed all the way from Boston to Providence.
The snow has stopped now, and aside from below freezing temperatures, it seems like there won't be too many more obstacles while I'm here. One might wonder why I would ever leave Kingston in the first place. I do.
